Welcome to Tour for Equality

We are riding our bicycles 10,000 miles across the United States and through East Asia working to ensure women's rights. We are men that believe that sexual and legal abuse of women can not end until men begin to play an active role in bringing about a solution. In schools across the United States, we will be teaching young men both about rape prevention and about understanding masculinity in more positive terms than through violence and competition. In Asia, we will be visiting and working with organizations that work to end the trafficking of women and girls. Especially with the flood of vulnerable orphans in the area after the tsunami, work on this issue has become an absolute necessity.

We are riding in commemoration of the 10 year anniversary of the 1995 United Nations Conference on the Status of Women. This conference specifically states that "The Platform for Action emphasizes that women share common concerns that can be addressed only by working together and in partnership with men towards the common goal of gender equality around the world." We are riding to honor this message and to do our share to ensure a safe and equitable world for all people.

We are men. We are riding because we acknowledge that abuse and inequality are bound up with men's attitudes and behaviors and we aim to address these attitudes through teaching and action. We are riding because men are an integral voice in the call for equality.
